Privacy Policy
Effective October 17, 2026
1. Who we are
This policy explains how Street Archive ("we," "us") handles information in the Street Archive app and website at street-archive.web.app and app.streetarchive.com (the "Service"). Contact us at info@streetarchive.com.
2. Information you give us
- Account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google or Apple. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email," we only get Apple's relay address.
- Birthday: used only to confirm you're 18 or older. It never appears on your profile. Only you and Street Archive admins can see it. If you're under 18, we don't keep your birthday, only a note that you're too young, so the age check works.
- Profile: username, display name, profile photo, bio, city, website, and the interests you pick.
- Content: photos, videos, captions, comments, likes, comment likes, Echoes, tags, follows, and topics.
- Brands and stores: Brand Hub and store details, team members, and the information you include when you claim a brand or store.
- Private lists: saved posts, Need to Cop, Stores to Visit, and the accounts you block. Only you can see these.
- Reports: what you report and why. The person you report isn't told who reported them.
- Messages to us: anything you send to our email.
3. Information collected automatically
- Link clicks and Brand Hub visits: when you tap a link in a post or visit a Brand Hub, we record it so brands can see totals in their dashboard. Brands see counts, not who clicked.
- Alerts: if you turn on phone alerts, we store your device's push token so we can send alerts to that phone.
- App usage: each day we record how many times you open Street Archive, which sections you visit, and roughly how long you stay in the app. This is stored as daily totals for your account. We use it to understand how the app is used and to improve it. Only Street Archive team members can see these records, and we don’t use them for advertising.
- Technical data: our hosting and database providers process basic technical information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and timestamps, to deliver the Service and keep it secure.
- Video details: when you upload a video, we record its length and size so we can convert it to a standard format.
We don't use advertising trackers or sell your data, and there are no ads in the Service today. If we ever add ads, we'll update this policy first.
4. Location
If you tap "Near me" on the Map, your phone shares your location with the app so it can show stores near you. Your location is used only on your device. It isn't sent to us or stored. You can turn off location access at any time in your phone's settings. To draw the map, your device loads map images from OpenFreeMap, which receives your IP address and the area of the map you're viewing.
5. How we use information
- To run the Service: show your profile and posts, build your feeds, show Brand Hubs and the store map, and send the alerts you've turned on.
- To give brands and stores dashboard totals (followers, likes, clicks, visits).
- To keep the Service safe: confirm users are 18+, filter sexual language automatically, review reports, and act on accounts that break our Terms.
- To fix problems, improve features, and answer your messages.
- To comply with the law.
6. Who can see your information
- Other users: your profile, posts, comments, likes, Echoes, follows, and follower counts are visible to other signed-in users. If you tag a brand or store, your post can appear on its page.
- Anyone with a link: when you share a post, profile, Brand Hub, or store link, anyone with that link can see a preview page on the web, even without an account.
- Brand and store teams: they see their dashboard totals and the posts that tag them.
- Service providers that run parts of the Service for us:
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud: sign-in, database, file storage, hosting, and server functions.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and iPhone alerts.
- Google: Sign in with Google.
- OpenFreeMap: map images.
- The U.S. Census Bureau geocoder: turning store addresses into map locations. It receives store addresses only, never your information.
- Content delivery networks that serve the app's code and fonts (Google Fonts, jsDelivr, cdnjs). These receive your IP address.
- Safety and the law: when required by law, or to protect people from harm. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
- Business changes: if Street Archive is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account in Settings, we delete your profile, posts, comments, likes, follows, saved posts, private lists, birthday record, alerts, and phone tokens. Brand Hubs you own stay up until an admin reassigns them. Copies may stay in backups for a limited time. We may keep reports and moderation records as long as needed to keep the Service safe or to comply with the law.
8. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, delete posts and comments, and change alert settings in the app.
- Block accounts, and turn off location or notification permissions in your phone's settings.
- Delete your account in Settings.
- Email us to ask for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or other states with privacy laws), you may have these rights by law. We won't treat you differently for using them. We may need to confirm your identity first. You can appeal a decision by replying to our response.
9. Age requirement
Street Archive is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we delete it. If you think someone under 18 is using the Service, email us.
10. Security
Your information is stored with Google Cloud, protected by encryption in transit and access rules that limit who can see what. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password and keep it to yourself.
11. Where information is stored
Street Archive is based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. The effective date at the top always shows the latest version.
